The MSR Flamekeepers Committee invites you to join the founders and early leaders of MSR  for the next “MSR Big Questions Webinar” with Dr. Jerry Biberman. The goal of this webinar series is not to provide definitive answers to the Big Questions but to provoke new ideas for MSR research, teaching, and practice.

Flamekeeper Big Questions for December 4, 2019:

“How do our own preconceptions and biases (both positive and negative) influence our choice of research questions that we ask and the ways in which we ask them? Is there a dark side that we want to avoid falling in to, and, if so, how (what practices, teaching research methods, etc.) can we use to avoid being ‘seduced by the dark side.“

This session will be led by Jerry Biberman, one of the founders of MSR, and the first chair of the interest group. Judi Neal will facilitate. After a brief explanation of the question by Jerry, we will open up the conversation for dialogue and interaction. We will also explore ways to keep the dialogue going between calls, especially through AOM Connect. The call will be recorded.

Inspirational Quote:

I stand among you as one who offers a small

Message of hope that first, there are always

people who dare to seek on the margin of society, who are not dependent on social routine, and prefer a kind of free -floating existence under a

state of risk. And among these people, if they

are faithful to their own calling, to their own

vocation, and to their own message from God,

communication on the deepest level is possible.

And the deepest level of communication is not

communication, but communion. It is wordless.

It is beyond words, and it is beyond speech, and it

is beyond concept. Not that we discover a new unity.

We discover an older unity. We are already one.

But we imagine that we are not. And what we have

to recover is our original unity. What we have to be

is what we are.
