Dear MSR Members,
Our elections for 2019 have now ended. Thanks for all those who volunteered and either nominated themselves or were nominated by others. The courage and commitment was very clear to all the MSR nominating committee members - as they learned of your experience. We had a higher MSR election turnout this year – highest in 10 years (25.95%, compared to 22.19% for the entire AOM). These generous volunteers will join the existing team of MSR officers now. They represent a wide range of experience that will add greatly to the strength and depth of the MSR officer team, all of whom are working to serve our field and our members. Each of them is a committed teacher, researcher and practitioner. They are each deeply committed to MSR and to our field. We are very lucky to have them!
I thank those on the nominating committee: Michael Pirson, Joan Marques, Stacie Chappell, Chris Laszlo and Charles Tackney.
I have served MSR for five years and it has been personally and professionally a very fulfilling experience. I am deeply grateful to witness the knowledge you share: your papers, symposia and PDWs you have submitted, for the professional, timely and positive and constructive reviews you have done, for the sharing that happens during the conference and on our new connect.aom.org, and for the many volunteers whose work behind the scenes made everything happen. Please contact me if you are interest in getting more involved in MSR as a volunteer. We need you too.
Most important of all, thanks to all those who stood for nomination and election, who were not on this occasion elected into an MSR officer role. You were all the best. We hope you will play important roles in MSR now and in the future. Please, remain committed to MSR; your hard work, insights, and esprit de corps are very much appreciated.
I look forward to seeing you in Boston this August!!
