Action research involves research projects that intentionally have a tangible effect on the lives of the researchers and participants, in addition to generating knowledge. Such an approach to research is invaluable for our field. Dr. Kathryn Goldman Schuyler, Dr. Lorna Cortés, and Dr. Orit Wolberger have all published based on a 10-year qualitative project. We will speak about the research itself, covering what we did, why, how the methodology is valuable in our field-and address how professors interested in such topics can simultaneously enrich both their research and meditation practice while supporting students in doctoral research.
