An international team of MSR leaders is co-creating a new series of virtual interactive sessions for all who wish to explore the relationship between awareness practice and their quality of life and work. Kathryn Goldman Schuyler, Tom Culham, Ella Henry, and Anil Maheshwari will convene the opening event. They selected an afternoon time to make participation possible for our members in Australia, New Zealand, most places in South America, and some portions of Asia.
These will be quarterly gatherings focused on a selected practice, each time from a different cultural and spiritual tradition from around the world. Attendees will learn about the practice, experience that practice, and then reflect together regarding how personal experiences of this and other spiritual practices nourish them. Future meetings will be July 18, Oct. 17 and Jan. 16, 2025, at the same time.
Each of the conveners brings a slightly different cultural and personal background to this series. As a convening group, we believe that experiencing and dialoguing about others’ spiritual practices deepens our appreciation both for the variety of spiritual experience and for our own practice as well. This opening session will be led by Kathryn Goldman Schuyler, who will share insights from her years of experience with Buddhist meditation as a source of being present, kind, and curious. A long-time student of Mingyur Rinpoche, author of The Joy of Living and In love with the World, Kathryn will offer a guided meditation and suggest questions for dialogue.
There are no prerequisites or expectations as to previous experience or knowledge. All are invited to taste these practices and dialogue together!
