    Hi everyone-

There was a brief article in the Chronicle's March 10th edition about a very large-scale study examining religious and spiritual development and attitudes among college students as well as faculty. Some of the results are to be expected while others are quite interesting. The link for a PDF version of the report is http://www.spirituality.ucla.edu/reports/spirit_professoriate.pdf if you would like to take a look.

On another note-the PDW program has come together very well. MSR folks are involved in a huge variety of workshops for you to take advantage of from Friday, August 11th through Sunday's formal program opening on the 13th. Our New Faculty/PhD student consortium is of itself worth the price of regular AOM registration! Come join us! Most of the MSR offerings are at the Atlanta Hilton, just FYI.

    Hi Kathy,

    Saludes a tu familia.

Astin's studies have been very interesting; clearly there are some
calls-to-action for academics across the disciplines, and those "calls" are
    coming from the students.

Please send a copy (or link information) to Mario Fernando since he needs
    content/filler for the MSR Newsletter.

Ciao for now, all is good. Today is Kyrai's first day of school at a
    nearby Montessori.

    Hi Kathy,

Favor to ask, would you be so kind to compose a short
announcement/invitation-of-sorts for the upcoming PDWs. I will send it
directly to the entire membership which seems more effective than the MSR
listserve. And, either you or myself can post it to the MSR listserve in
    any case.

Robert Ouimet has asked to know when the scholarship awards/session will
take place. Is it slated within the PDW schedule - or - like last year,
will it be part of our business meeting?

    Ciao for now.
