Organisational Spirituality) will be taking place in the UK on the
weekend following the dates of the workshop.

The Journal of Management, Spirituality and Religion (www.JMSR.com) is
    proud to sponsor:

A Two-Day Workshop with Dr. Marjo Lips Wiersma
Tuesday 27th to Wednesday 28th June

    Personal Spiritual Foundations to Leadership

    The Womens Library
    London Metropolitan University
This is the JMSRs first sponsored workshop and offers a unique
opportunity to engage with a leading academic in the field of Spirit at
Work. Please join us for an in-depth opportunity to explore this
    important topic.
    Who is Marjo?
Marjo is a senior lecturer in management at the University of
Canterbury, NZ. She co-ordinates the first New Zealand university course
on spirituality in the workplace and is past chair of the Management,
Spirituality and Religion division of the American Academy of
Management. Her research is published in international journals such as
the Journal of Management Development, the Journal of Managerial
Psychology, the Journal of Public Administration and Development and the
    Journal of Humanistic Psychology.
Marjo developed the Holistic Development Model and has worked with it
for over ten years. She specialises in Personal and Organisational
existential questions that relate to values, responsibility and
performance. She is also interested in purpose beyond profit and
particularly the influence of leadership, discernment, justice and
vision on organisational purpose. Finally she is interested in how all
members of an organization (including leadership) can collectively be
better at acting on their values based on deeper knowledge of their own
(spiritual) approach to life and human values.
In this workshop we offer ways for you to:
Identify deeply held values and beliefs that provide an anchor for you
and your organisation in times of complexity and change
Transform beliefs into real, sustainable action
Stay in touch with the inspirational and not stay buried in the
    functional and instrumental
Gain insight into the shadow & its transformative power in
    organisational & personal life
Work with others in harmonious and effective ways
Drawing on our years of experience in working with issues of management
we bring leading edge thinking to profound questions in the discipline.
The workshop is designed to be participative and makes use of
experiential learning as well as some existing practices that have
proven to be effective in accessing and acting out of deeper values.

Why choose to work with the Holistic Development Model?
The model makes it easy to talk about and work with people's deeper
    values and spirituality.
It offers a framework large enough to in some way express the unlimited
nature of the subject, and yet focused enough to allow practical
    engagement.
It provides a very useful frame of reference for maintaining a
whole-world view while focusing on aspects of our life. For example,
while focusing on the need to develop ourselves we can keep in view the
contribution this will make to others.
We have found that it always leads to profound inquiry and discussion
and enables immediate links to action.
    Who should attend this workshop?

Those who work in, or aspire to, (formal or informal) leadership roles
in business, the community and not for profit organisations.
Those who want to reflect on individual and organisational purpose,
enhance individual and collective ability to translate deeper values,
    purpose beyond profit.

What will you gain through participating?

A balance between functional skills and enthusiasm.
     Heartfelt dedication and practical application.
A balance between what you give to yourself, what you give to others,
your times of being and your times of doing.
A tool for engaging employees/volunteers in working from their deeper
values in individual and collective ways in a way that does not
proselytise, not create cynicism and not take simplified short-cuts.

What has been the feedback of previous participants?

"Your work on Spirituality offers organisations and those within them a
wonderful and non-threatening space in which to address all those vital
areas that so often get suppressed or ignored".
Alan George Principal Consultant, Calibre Learning Ltd., St Albans, UK

Through this workshop, spirituality gets a fresh face and practical
hands and feet without losing its integrity. I am using what I learned
    every day.
Ben Wolters, Manager Conference Centre, The Netherlands.

"You don't have to be a spiritual person to do this workshop. I thought
it might be full of people with new age ungrounded ideas and fantasies.
In fact the Holistic Development Model grounds participants in
themselves, their social/work community and social responsibility. Many
organisations are seeking answers to building and valuing more
integrated environments, where the individual can fully participate and
offer his/her talents at work. The workshop, based on the model, gives
us some doorways and pathways to explore these possibilities."
Martin Sutcliffe, Manager, Auckland City Council, New Zealand

"The Holistic Development Model is a engaging and practical approach for
development on a number of levels. Its simplicity belies its depth and
    comprehensiveness."
Gordon Oakly, Senior Consultant, Keogh Consultancy, Adelaide, Australia

"Crafted experiences to bring personal and social spirituality into
greater awareness. Professional, non-threatening, deeply respectful of
individuals journey and place, invitational, inspirational,
well-grounded, academically and theoretically rich, integrative of many
    paradigms."
Dr. Judith McMorland, Senior Lecturer in Organisational Change and
    Director CO-LEARNZ, New Zealand
