    Dear Colleagues

    This is a final call for papers for the Annual Conference of the British Association for the Study of Religions, on the theme 'The Ethical Dimension', to be held at Bath Spa University 4-6 September, 2006.

    Panels and individual papers are invited on the conference topic. The theme will be broadly interpreted to include such subjects as the negotiation, promulgation and enforcement of ethical ideals within religion; encounters between different religions' ethical systems; cash and commodification in relation to religion; philanthropy: and other aspects of the ethical dimension in religion, from historical perspectives or in contemporary situations.

    The Annual Lecture will be delivered by Professor Robert Segal on 'The Ethical Dimension in Theories of Religion'.

    Please send offers of papers and reports of work in progress for the 2006 BASR conference to arts-basr@open.ac.uk <mailto:arts-basr@open.ac.uk <mailto:arts-basr@open.ac.uk> > by 1 June 2006.
