Hi Everyone,
David's book is a classic, and extraordinarily well-researched and thought provoking. One of the companies that David has worked with to help promote a faith-friendly environment is Tyson Foods. They received the International Spirit at Work Award from us in 2007 for their very wonderful chaplaincy program.
If anyone else knows of an organization that is explicit about nurturing the human spirit in the workplace, please ask them to consider applying for the Award. Details are on our website at www.spiritatwork.org, and the deadline for applications is May 15th, although we can extend that a week or two if an organization is seriously interested in applying.
My book, Edgewalkers: People and Organizations that Take Risks, Build Bridges, and Break New Ground, is focused on leaders who build bridges between the physical and non-physical world and who have a strong commitment to their own spiritual life. It profiles leaders from many different industries and in different countries.
For detailed interviews of spiritual-based leaders from around the world, see Leading With Wisdom: Spiritual-based leadership in business (Pruzan and Pruzan).
Patricia Aburdene's book Megatrends 2010 posits that the next big Megatrend is spirituality in the workplace, and she has a wide variety of case examples from socially responsible investing to sustainability to spiritual leadership.
Its amazing. 15 years ago it was almost impossible to find anything written in this field, and even harder to find like-minded people to share ideas with. Now we have the MSR Interest Group at the Academy, the Journal of Management, Spirituality and Religion, and a large number of best-selling books in the field. We've come a long way in a relatively short period of time. What gives me more hope than anything else is the growing number of doctoral students who are doing dissertations in this area. There is now so much happening that it is impossible to keep track of it all in one place, but it looks like MSR has some good ideas about how to be a central resource.
Peace,
Judi

Hi folks,
In my book, God at Work, I also reference several companies who are intentional about encouraging a spiritual environment.

Hello,
My dissertation is on spiritual leadership in the business context of Morocco, but I am looking for some examples of businesses that you may qualify as spiritual in the business context of the US. I'd like to include some examples in my literature review.
Thanks
