Hello management researchers, practitioners, and students~

As the end of the year approaches, perhaps you are beginning to reflect on commitments for 2007--

accomplishing your most important goals and staying true to yourself in the process, being open to what's next in your life, or planning regular time for rest and renewal.

Imagine dedicating two days to reflection and meditation in a beautiful retreat center this year...and imagine you could do this with fellow Academy of Management members. Too good to be true?! Well, it happens every August immediately following the Academy of Management annual conference, and we invite you to mark this time on your calendar now.

Each year, the retreat begins Wednesday afternoon, right as the AOM conference ends, and continues through Friday afternoon (Aug 8-10, 2007). The retreat consists of a variety of reflective exercises and healing modalities offered by those who attend the retreat as well as local specialists.

Past sessions have included: early mornings with tai chi, guided meditations and visualizations, metta mediation, nature walks, chants, and body/energy instruction such as meridian point tapping or acupressure.

This is a perfect time to set aside for reflection and renewal before a new academic year begins, to be exposed to a variety of meditative techniques and reflective experiences, and to meet people who incorporate such practices into their daily lives, teaching, and research!

This year the retreat will be held at Pendle Hill, a wonderful Quaker center in Philadelphia, and of course the MSR retreat welcomes people of all religious and spiritual beliefs.

So plan to give yourself this gift in 2007 and mark your calendar now for the MSR reflective retreat on August 8-10, 2007.

Registration information will be sent beginning in February 2007.

and if you are already planning to attend-- for those of you who feel inspired to lead a reflective practice session--please contact Tara Wernsing at twernsing@yahoo.com.

looking forward to a year of connection and fulfillment,

    MSR retreat planning committee
