Thanks, David, for this very helpful response.
I am interested in JoAnn Hungelmann's grounded study with elderly retired nurses. Do you have any more information about it?
Thanks for your help and assistance.

Hi Tacha,
Contact Raymond Paloutzian at Claremont Univesity for the most current information regarding the Spiritual Well-Being Scale that he and Craig Ellison developed.
After you do, look into the dissertations completed at George Fox College in Oregon under the supervision of Donald Buford especially those which examined the pychometric strengths/weaknesses of the SWB scale. Also, note especially that although the SWB scale has limitations due to the "ceiling effect" of the RWB subscale, the EWB subscale is quite strong - and - most interestingly, the overall SWB scale is a great indicator of "spiritual distress" (it is important to resist the tendency to equate spirituality with all that is glow, flow, and wonderful since it is oftentimes life's most painful experiences that have been the most spiritual enriching). If I were supervising a doctoral student, I would expect these two sources as a starting point in the lit. review with the quantitative side of "spiritual well-being"; then proceed forward with the work accomplished since.
Doctoral student Steve Camkin at the Fielding Graduate School is currently researching SWB; Steve's literature review is about the most current I can think of at the moment.
Also on the qualitative side, I recommend starting with JoAnn Hungelmann's grounded study with elderly retired nurses.
I will give it further thought this week, but this immediately comes to mind ....and please share what you find out.
Have a great day.
David

Hello all,
Could someone point me to a recently published study on measures of spirituality and/or spiritual well-being?
Thank you.
