Hello – I am new to this forum, and am hoping to get a feel for what goes on
here.
I would be interested to know if there is any document that sets out the
general intent and raison d'etre of this group. And as a researcher I am
interested in learning not only what MSR members want to find out through
research, but also what MSR researchers want to contribute, and give back to
the settings they might research. My fantasy is that the focus is on what
research may be able to offer the world of work and management. However, I
also wonder how MSR research could inform the world of spirituality and
religion. When I first embarked on exploring the connection between the
worlds of work and spirituality, I imagined that, in general, the world of
work was in some way 'lacking', because S and R were too neglected. But I
have begun to realise that the world of work holds its own wisdom too, and
can make a contribution to those whose attention is so strongly focussed on
S and R that they lose connection with the 'earth'.
My interest in this group arises from my background in coaching / consulting
in the corporate world (with authenticity as a core concept), spiritual
mentoring and running retreats, working as a qualitative research
methodologist, and helping people find their voice (metaphorically, and as a
voice trainer). There is general information about this on my Voice Wisdom
website (see below), but my current focus is in developing a model of
personal and organisational transformation that I have called 'Authentic
Voice' (AV) (also see link below). Work in progress around this can be seen
on the AV website.
Best wishes,
Alexander
