    Hi All,

I am doing my Phd on Effect of Meditation on employee behavior, and have
just completed my course work. During my literature review i came across a
book "The Third Advent" by Grégoire De Kalbermatten, in which the author
has proposed relationships between the energy centers of humans (from a
model of meditation & yoga) AND many management and psychology principles
    which are quite interesting.

Though he has adopted the Meditation model as proposed by Sahaja Yoga
Meditation founded by H.H. Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi, but it seems that it
is worth giving a reading for its effort to develop relationships between
ancient knowledge of Kundalini Yoga to Modern day management issues.

    Dear Shilpa,

Your research sounds very interesting...Incidentally, when I was doing my Masters in Mumbai Univ, I had conducted a quasi-exptal study with Prof. Satish Kumar and two classmates on yoga and emotional intelligence among a group of individuals who were enrolled in a 7-day camp at the Yoga Institute in Santa Cruz Mumbai. This study was published in the Yoga Institute's journal Yoga and Total Health, and also the Bombay Psychologist. Unfortunately, I don't have a soft copy of the paper at hand to pass on...if I can dig it up from my old comp, I will email it to you! The Institute follows a more holistic classical Ashtanga Marga philosophy, and regularly publishes articles on experiments and studies they conduct on the effectiveness of yoga, meditation, kriyas, etc, which might be of interest to you. Good luck with your research and happy holidays!

    Greetings

I have read these last two e-mails with interest. My
research area is entrepreneurship and on the side, I
regularly practice yoga (mostly Bikram Yoga right
now). I believe that there might be some interesting
research links between the spiritual and meditative
benifits of yoga and the entrepreneurial experience.
I haven't focused on this linkage to date, but I
certainly would be open to some ideas.

    Dear Aarti,

It may be of interest to you that I too had used Ashtanga yoga framework to
study its impact on executive burnout in a quasi-experimental study. The
findings were published in Asia Pacific Business Review.
Shilpa, best wishes for your research.
