    Dear MSR Colleagues

    We are delighted to invite you to a caucus at AOM, which we think will be of particular interest to the MSR community, entitled "Love: The Power of a Word".

    Whether your focus is leadership, spirituality, change, compassion, care, sustainability, POS or any other domain of the Academy, if the topic of love resonates with you, your research, your teaching, or your practice, please come along and join the emerging community of love scholars.  The goal for this caucus is to bring together those of us whose work involves the many possible expressions of love. A more detailed description of the caucus is below.

    We hope to see you in Philadelphia.

    Scheduled: Monday, Aug 4 2014 4:45PM - 6:15PM at Sheraton Philadelphia Downtown Hotel in Parlor D
    Program Session #: 1311
    Organizer: Duncan Coombe; Ashridge;
    Organizer: Linda Robson; Case Western Reserve U.;

    Description: There has been an emergence of interest for the topic of love in organizational scholarship (e.g., Barsade & O'Neill, 2014; Fredrickson, 2013; Fry & Nisiewicz, 2013; Coombe, 2011), representing diverse arenas of the Academy. This caucus aims to fuel collective interest in the topic of love, develop themes of scholarship, and most fundamentally, to establish a community of love scholars.

    Design: The caucus design intentionally fosters conversation and connection among participants. A variety of group configurations will be used, organized around the following three headings:

    Where Does the Word 'Love' Sit With You?:
    "What has drawn you to this caucus?"

    The Questions We Ask:
    Participant report-outs on existing love scholarship and research projects
    Identifying research questions and pathways: "What are the issues related to love that most interest or excite you?"
    Develop an emerging research agenda

    Next Steps
    How to support the development of research and publications on the topic of love?
    How to develop the community of love scholars?
