Hello from the 2014-2015 MSR Executive Committee! We are thankful for another year of opportunity as we work to represent the vision and carry out the mission of MSR. It is an honor to work with so many who have chosen to make Management, Spirituality and Religion part of their academic, professional and personal interests. Our hope is to provide the best leadership and service as we work to make your membership in the MSR Interest Group worthwhile.
As outcomes from our planning efforts, we are excited to share the following announcements and updates:
2015 AOM Conference
The 2015 AOM conference will be held August 7-11 in Vancouver, BC Canada. The theme this year is “Opening Governance.” We have finalized both the PDW call for proposals as well as the call for papers for the Scholarly Program. These invitations will be shared by email over next few days. We encourage you to submit your work to both programs to ensure we receive contributions representing the best efforts of our diverse research community.
MSR 2014 Winter Newsletter Release
The winter edition of the MSR Newsletter is under final review and will be available over the next week. This edition contains valuable information in many areas including details about the 2015 MSR Retreat.
Updates to the MSR Domain Statement and By-Laws
The Executive Committee has worked this fall to update our domain statement and by-laws. The domain statement is currently under review by the AOM DIGR team and will be shared with the community in December of this year. The By-Laws will be presented to the full membership for approval by vote when revisions are finalized.
Research
We realized the need to identify scholars and centers of excellence that represent key domains of interest in MSR research. Our goal is to be inclusive of all areas of research in the areas of spirituality and religion to promote theory building and to establish standards of excellence in scholarly work submitted for publication.
With this in mind, we have created a short survey to generate a list of individuals and organizations that have in the past and/or continue to make significant contributions in MSR related fields of research. We would appreciate your input by going to the following link and adding your knowledge of such contributors to our existing database:

Membership
In the area of membership, we are working to build the MSR community both in numbers and in involvement. As of October 2014, our community was represented by about 600 members. Our goal for 2015 is to increase membership enrollment in MSR by at least 20%. To do so, we need your help. The Academy of Management is represented by over 18,000 members. Many members participate in multiple divisions that reflect their preferred areas of research or related fields of interest. For this upcoming year, we invite current AOM members who are involved in personal and organizational development to join the MSR interest group and work with us to share the benefit of using spiritual and religious principles in management practices to shape the business environment.
Our growth and improvement strategies are being developed and executed through a number of committees. Please see our website at the following link for the most recent updates:

If you are interested in working with any of these committees, please don’t hesitate to contact an executive committee member to be directed to the proper point of contact.
We appreciate your input, your patience and continued support as we look forward to another great year. Please feel free to contact us to discuss these and other opportunities to be involved in MSR.
