Dear MSR colleagues,
In 2006 I published a book titled Edgewalkers: People and Organizations that Take Risks, Build Bridges, and Break New Ground (Praeger). This book identifies five different organizational orientations: Edgewalkers, Placeholders, Flamekeepers, Hearthtenders, and Doomsayers. Edgewalkers are leaders who are successful at integrating their faith and spirituality in their work.
From this work, I have developed the (1) Orientation Survey - Individual and the (2) Orientation Survey - Organizational, with the help of Dr. Linda Hoopes of Resilience Alliance. These surveys help individuals and organizations to assess their levels on each of the five organizational orientations. They also help organizational leaders to see if they have the right mix for their strategic environment.
We are in the second pilot phase of testing these instruments and are offering them for free to people who are working full-time as employees in organizations. This phase will allow us to reduce the number of items used in the final version of the instrument.
To participate go to:
Orientation Survey - Individual (https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/2ZX3NYF)
Orientation Survey - Organizational (https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/WNBLWPB)
Code: Pilot3
Deadline for completion: Friday, September 14, 2012.
For your participation, you will receive a summary report of your individual and your organizational profile. We will also make a brief research report available on our results.
Our goal is to create a research paper for the International Association for Management, Spirituality and Religion conference in Lourdes, France in May 2013, as well as a research paper for MSR next August.
Please feel free to forward this to your working students and/or to organizations that might be interested in participating.
In Gratitude,
Judi
