CALL FOR PROPOSALS: 2009 MSR PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT WORKSHOPS
The Management, Spirituality and Religion (MSR) Interest Group cordially invites you to submit a Professional Development Workshop (PDW) proposal for the Academy of Management Annual Conference in Chicago, Illinois, August 7-11, 2009. The conference theme is "Green Management Matters."
PDWs are perfect platforms for sharing knowledge and expertise, advancing personal and professional development. They also serve as forums for exploring new and innovative constructs, pedagogies, and practices that may stimulate future MSR research, scholarship, and applications. Submitters are encouraged to involve presenters from other AOM divisions and to explore connections with the 2009 conference theme. Bold, creative, interactive, and interdisciplinary topics are welcome.
All PDW proposals should include:
1) A title and AOM assigned submission number (in the proposal and in file name)
2) Primary sponsor and other potential sponsors
3) An abstract of up to 250 words
4) A 3-5 page workshop overview
5) A justification of why the PDW would be of interest to MSR and potential co-sponsors
6) A description of the chosen format for delivery
7) An explicit commitment by all participants to attend
8) File formatting in either PDF, DOC, or RTF
PDWs missing any of these items will not be reviewed or accepted.
This coming year, PDWs will occur on Friday, August 7th, and Saturday, August 8th. All-Academy Theme PDWs will occur on Sunday, August 9th. The "rule of three" applies (individuals may submit, appear in, or be associated with up to three PDWs only).
NOTE: PDWs are highly popular events; however, time slots will be extremely competitive in 2009. Those who wish to assist or attend the MSR Doctoral and New Faculty Consortium, should contact Dr. Adela McMurray at Adela.mcmurray@rmit.edu.au or Dr. Emmett Perry at Emmett.perry@rockhurst.edu.
Please submit proposals through the AOM website at: http://submissions.aomonline.org/2009. Only submissions registered, uploaded, and finalized on the website will be evaluated. The site opens on November 3, 2008, and the submission deadline is January 15, 2009. To discuss PDW ideas prior to submission (highly encouraged), please contact Dr. Arthur Jue at ajue@sbcglobal.net, 408.642.2027. Thank you for your support, and see you in Chicago!
