Dear Erik,
You've received good suggestions from David Miller and Robert Giacalone. In
fact, I wrote a review of David's book in the MSR Journal (Vol 5, Issue 1).
In my opinion from a U.S. perspective, Mitroff and Denton's A Spiritual
Audit of Corporate America is the most often cited work as it helped trigger
additional quantitative and qualitative research. An interesting 10 years
later article appeared in the MSR Journal Volume 6, Issue 1. The MSR
Journal and Giacalone are probably the richest sources of quantitative data.
Two other books I recommend are:
Hicks, D. A. (2003). Religion and the workplace: Pluralism, spirituality,
leadership. Cambridge, UK: The Press Syndicate of the University of
Cambridge.
Williams, O. F. (Ed.). (2003). Business, religion, and spirituality: A new
synthesis. Notre Dame, IN: University of Notre Dame Press.
One other source of early research are symposia:
Dr. Thierry Pauchant of HEC in Montreal held one early in the new century a
report of its findings can be found in:
Pauchant, T. C. (Ed.). (2002). Ethics and spirituality at work: Hopes and
pitfalls of the search for meaning in organizations. Westport, CT: Quorum
Books.
Another important source is the 2001 Bridging the Gap conference that Dr.
Andre Delbecq (another important scholar in this movement) orchestrated at
Santa Clara University. These papers do a good job of exploring definitions
of spirituality and work. Here is the URL:

I hope this helps.

Hi Everyone,
One of my students is working on a master's thesis in the field of SAW.
For this he needs to gain insight in the quantitative research which has
been conducted in this field. Could you please help him with the
following questions:
- What do you consider the most important research/articles?
- Which research is most often quoted?
- Where to find an overview of recent work in this field?
With kind regards,
