Angela,
Thank you so much for doing this meta-analysis. You might want to look
at our manuscript where we demonstrated that spirit at work could be
increased. We found that as spirit at work increases, so too does job
satisfaction, organizational commitment, and organizational culture,
especially teamwork and morale. At the same time, absenteeism and
turnover decreased. The reference for the article is:
Kinjerski, V. & Skrypnek, B.J.(2008). The Promise of Spirit at Work:
Increasing Job Satisfaction and Organizational Commitment and Reducing
Turnover and Absenteeism in Long-term Care. Journal of Gerontological
Nursing. 43(10), pp. 17-27.
You can access a copy from my website:

We are also in the process of submitting a manuscript validating the
Spirit at Work Scale, where correlations between spirit at work and
these work-related constructs are demonstrated.
Good luck with your work.

Subject: Need Help for Meta-Analysis
Hello everyone,
I am a doctoral student trying to fulfill some course requirements. For
one of my course assignments, I would like to conduct a meta-analysis in
the MSR field looking at how organizational spirituality correlates with
ANY work outcomes like job satisfaction, motivation, absenteeism,
turnover, fit, identification and so forth.
So far I have found 6 or 7 articles but need 15 to do this assignment. I
am guessing that there are conference papers out there and unpublished
papers I could find from your direction hopefully? I am wondering too
if there are some that I may not be finding when I do my search in ABI
Inform and EBSCO Host, Sage etc. I am happy to incorporate all articles
regardless of where and if they are published as long as they are
related to spirituality, work outcomes, and have correlation tables that
I can use to conduct the meta-analysis.
Please email me at
angela.hope@hotmail.com. If you have any other
suggestions or comments I would appreciate your input too.
Best, Angela Hope
