  • 1.  Call for Papers - Faith and Spirit at Work Conference Nov 7-9 2011

    Posted 03-29-2011 17:54

    Dear Colleagues,

It is my great pleasure to announce the Call for Papers for our International Faith and Spirit at Work Conference.  This conference will be held at the University of Arkansas on November 7-9, 2011, in conjunction with the International Faith and Spirit at Work Awards.  This conference is co-sponsored by a number of organizations, including the Journal of Management, Spirituality and Religion; the International Association for Management, Spirituality, and Religion; John Brown University; Intersections (Marble Collegiate Church); WorkMatters; Russell Media; and Compassion Happens.

The attached Call for Papers describes the design of the conference, which was significantly influenced by Andre Delbecq and his model of "Dialogue and Discovery."

The deadline for papers is May 31, 2011.  We especially want to encourage international submissions.

Please don't let the location keep you from considering this conference.  The U.S. News & World Report "2011 America's Best Colleges" ranked the Walton College in a tie for 24th place among the nation's public undergraduate schools of business.  (http://waltoncollege.uark.edu/about.asp)

Fayetteville, Arkansas is ranked as one of the top five places in the U.S. for entrepreneurial start-ups in the country, and also as one of the top five places to retire.  We are located in the beautiful and historical Ozark mountains, and our conference planning committee is putting together a list of sacred and beautiful sites to see when you are here.  We are looking forward to hosting our MSR Colleagues here and delighting you with what this university and this area has to offer.  We are also hard at work creating a conference that will bring together business leaders, academics and faith leaders to work on ideas and projects that will make a difference.  We hope you will join us!

Please let me know if you have any questions.

    Sincerely,

    Judi Neal

    Dear Professor Neal,

Many thanks for your mail. One of my research scholars is working in this field and the conference would add tremendous value, I would recommend this to him. Another mail indicated that you are looking for reviewers; if you like I can review 2-3 papers for the conference.

    Regards,

    Radha Sharma

    Dear Colleagues,

Thank you so everyone who has submitted papers to the International Faith and Spirit at Work Conference and to all of you who volunteered to be reviewers.  We are extending the due date to June 18th since several of you have mentioned that you need a little extra time and we have some flexibility.  Our original invitation email is below, and I have attached the Call for Papers.  Rhonda Bell is the Chair of the Research Program Committee.  Please let either of us know if you have any questions.  Also, more details about the conference can be found at http://tfsw.uark.edu.

    Sincerely,

    Judi Neal
