    Announcement of a Vacancy in Management

    Position: One year, visiting assistant/associate/full professor of management, available September 2010.

    Qualifications: Ph.D. (or ABD) from an AACSB accredited business school in Organization Behavior or a related management field. Successful candidate should have an established record as an effective teacher and be capable of teaching at both the graduate and undergraduate levels.  Candidates should also have a demonstrated capacity to conduct publishable research.  Successful candidates must be compatible with SPU's ecumenical Christian mission. Although the focus of this position is organization behavior, versatility is valued.  Preference will also be given to candidates who are AACSB "academically qualified" and who have relevant industry experience.  Women and people of color are especially encouraged to apply.

    Responsibilities: Regular nine-month load teaching organization behavior and other management topics as needed (at both the graduate and undergraduate levels).

    Compensation: Compensation commensurate with experience. Benefits include health, dental, disability, and life insurance.

    About the School of Business and Economics:  SBE offers three undergraduate majors (accounting, business administration and economics) and two graduate degrees (MBA and MS-ISM).  Approximately 10-15% of the students attending SPU are associated with one of SBE's programs.  Nearly all of the School's 20-25 faculty members have terminal degrees in fields related to their teaching and research and many also have formal theological or ethical education.  Faculty are expected to teach at both undergraduate and graduate levels.  SBE has adopted the Principles for Responsible Management Education and is AACSB accredited.
