  • 1.  Most important research articles in spirit at work

    Hello Erik,

A colleague comprised a list of the what she thought were the most important
empirical studies in MRS to date. Here they are:

Mitroff and Denton's pioneering book in 1999

Here is the reference for their article:
Mitroff, I. and Denton, E. (1999), “A study of spirituality in the
workplace”, Sloan Management Review, Vol. 40 No. 4, pp. 83-92.

Giacalone and Jurkiewicz, "Right from Wrong: The Influence of Spirituality
on Perceptions of Unethical Business Activities," Journal of Business
    Ethics, 46: 85-97, 2003.

Duchon and Plowman, "Nurturing the Spirit at Work: Impact on Work Unit
    Performance," The Leadership Quarterly, 16:5, 807-833, 2005.

Kinjerski and Skrypnek, "The Promise of Spirit at Work: Increasing Job
Satisfaction and Organizational Commitment and Reducing Absenteeism and
Turnover in Long-Term Care," Journal of Gerontological Nursing, 34:10,
    17-27, 2008.

Margaret McKee's 2008 dissertation at Saint Mary's University in Halifax --
I emailed her to see if she's published anything from it yet, and am still
waiting to hear back from her.

Harung, Travis, Blank, and Heaton, "Higher Development, Brain Integration,
and Excellence in Leadership," Management Decision, 47:6, 872-894, 2009.

Jody Fry's latest co-authored piece (in press)

You can access a copy of the Promise of Spirit at Work and Measuring the
Intangible: Development of the Spirit at Work Scale at:
    http://www.kaizensolutions.org/publications.htm

    Hope this helps.

    Hi Everyone,

One of my students is working on a master's thesis in the field of SAW.
For this he needs to gain insight in the quantitative research which has
been conducted in this field. Could you please help him with the following
    questions:

    - What do you consider the most important research/articles?
    - Which research is most often quoted?
    - Where to find an overview of recent work in this field?

    With kind regards,
    Erik de Jongh

Yes, Erik, Val's email reminds me to suggest that look at Jody Fry's special issue in Leadership Quarterly and his recent work in Organizational Dynamics.
