Dear MSR members from down under,

I met the SIG Chair Debu Mukerjee in Sydney last week and we were thinking about organisng a get together of MSR members in Australia and New Zealand some time in 2011 or 2012.

If you are interested could you please email Debu or me with a topic if you have one?

The idea is to get together and discuss a topic that is of interest to us to collaborate together and keep in touch and lok for ways to run workshops or present papers at the next AoM meeting.

Great. I thought I might interest you!

We could do this in summer which might bring in people from abroad wanting to escape the winter.

Yes, language is an interesting topic! In recent qualitative data gathering, I have noticed how secular contexts seem to have influenced how participants express spiritual ideas.... Joanna

Dear People Interested in MSR Meeting Down Under

I echo Shankar's great idea and support the valuable and prompt inputs from others. It looks like a very good start in formation of a great group!!!!

To add to Shankar's introduction about me, I live in Sydney, I am with AOM for some years, and this year Chair MSR.

It will be great to meet with all like minded people in this region of the world. Perhaps, the first step would be to compile a list of the name (and e-address, Telephone No.) of people who could be contacted through this listserve as well as personal contacts.

    Let's keep interacting folks.

    Cheers

  • 14.  A MSR meeting down under?

    Posted 03-08-2011 20:48
Well, with my struggle with the PhD and the authenticity of research that is paramount to me I came full circle to the problem of understanding spirituality as a language. And not only the language as the linguistic organism but also as a philosophical concept. There is so much to discuss in this area. I am glad that it generates the interest down under!

Yes I agree, I've noticed that our indigenous language provides a better framework for speaking spirituality than does English! Kim

Yes, language is an interesting topic! In recent qualitative data gathering, I have noticed how secular contexts seem to have influenced how participants express spiritual ideas.... Joanna

    Hi Shankar!
    What a lovely idea!
I think that the idea of the language of spirituality is an important one. So add it, please, to the list of topics.
