Embodied Awareness and Leadership: Eastern and Western Approaches - a caucus
Monday, August 15, 2011 3:00 PM - 4:30 PM Hilton Palacio del Rio in La Reina North & Center
Discuss embodied awareness and applications to leadership! In this session we will examine three broad areas:
1. what is embodied awareness (we are likely to do something experiential here, depending on the number of attendees and the
space); 2. areas for potential research and collaboration; 3. the relevance of embodied awareness for organizational leaders; and paradigmatic issues.
Questions to be discussed or considered include:
1. How can research be conducted on embodied awareness? 2. Why is this topic important for leaders? 3. What are the paradigmatic considerations that embodied awareness raises? 4. What are the similarities and differences between Eastern and Western approaches to embodied awareness?
The overall intention of the Caucus is to create a network of interested scholars in this area to stimulate future research and collaborative efforts.
Presenters include Mark Kriger, Norwegian School of Management; Kay Rudisill, Oracle America.
