BUSINESS FOR PEACE – STRATEGIES FOR HOPE
Commemorating the centennial of the first World War (1914-1918)
International SPES Conference
in Flanders Fields, Ieper (Ypres), Belgium
April 10-12, 2014
Aims of the Conference
Ø discussing the concept of peace and its spiritual, political, ecological and economic impact in today's world
Ø strengthening the practice of peace-building in local and global business
Ø visit to the battle fields of the Great War and attendance of the Last Post Ceremony at the Menin Gate in Ieper (Ypres).
Ø launch of a 'charter of hope' at the occasion of the tenth anniversary of the European SPES Forum
Place and Date
The 'Business for Peace' Conference well be held at the venue of the Novotel in the historical town of Ieper/Ypres (Sint-Jacobstraat 15, 8900 IEPER). The conference starts on April 10 and ends on April 12, 2014.
Participation fee
250 euros for regular participants; 200 euros for paper presenters; 150 euros for students; 100 euros for one-day participants.
Panel debates and paper presentations
Parallel sessions will be organized as panel debates and focused on a specific aspect of peace-building. The paper presenters (three in each session) will get 10 to 15 minutes to comment a selected position statement from their paper. The remaining time is reserved for discussion.
