Research Methods Division 2014 Doctoral Student and Early Career Faculty
Consortium
With support from the Center for the Advancement of Research Methods and
Analysis (CARMA)
The consortium is a virtual, real-time, and participative opportunity to
interact with leading scholars and methodologists across three perspectives:
macro-quantitative, micro-quantitative and qualitative. The consortium will
be held in May, 2014 in 5 sessions outlined in the schedule below, and
concluded with a social for all participants and presenters at the Academy
meeting in August.

Clearing the publishing hurdle: Ask the editors

1) Managing the research design, data collection and analysis in large
research projects/dissertations
2) Teaching methods and building a methods network

Crafting a methodological contribution: Perspectives from the experts

Methodology Matters: A look to the future
August 2
Evening social event at the AOM meeting for all participants and panelists
Panelists already scheduled to participate in these sessions include: Amy
Colbert, Glenn Hoetker, James LeBreton, Mo Wang, Don Bergh, Lisa Schurer
Lambert, Steve Gove, Jeff Edwards, and Brian Boyd.
The consortium is open to: (1) individuals interested in deepening expertise
in research methodology; (2) doctoral students who have successfully passed
comprehensive exams; and (3) junior faculty seeking professional
development. All participants will require a computer and a good internet
connection.
Application: Submit CV, one page (or less) explanation of your interest in
the Consortium, and letter of faculty support (for doctoral students) to
