Dear MSR community members:
Greetings from Copenhagen, where it is getting darker by the day...this'll be a reconstruction of a post that apparently got lost in the ether about 10 days ago.....I'll begin by thanking those who have read and commented on the 1 Sept. post, particularly Greg for the upload with attached file, then Tom Culham for his posts on, and text from, the new book, Toward a Spiritual Research Paradigm: Exploring New Ways of Knowing, Researching and Being. Edited by Jing Lin, Rebecca Oxford and Tom Culham. This is a new Information Age Publication this year. Thanks, too, to Scott Taylor for his kind words - Scott has Interest Group research going back to the founding phrase of MSR. And then to Benito Teehankee, who opened an interesting door to comparison between UK critical realism (Bhaskar, Archer, Collier, and others) and the insight-based critical realism of Lonergan (a Canadian). Perhaps there is a PDW session to be crafted from his post?
We're now into the interesting season of remote AOM submission preparations: PDW, scholarly, or symposium. Would there be any further thoughts on the MSR Ways and Means document as we head into AOM 2017 preparations? Was there something missing? Is there an area a similar effort might usefully take up? Would it help to somehow make the document generally available - say on the MSR Homepage?
And we've got Mary's interesting cite of an MSR related Huffington Post piece as background reading!
Best,
Charlie
