  • 1.  Anyone interested in a 'writing retreat' following the IAMSR in May ?

    Posted 02-16-2017 17:54

Hello Colleagues and Friends - I set the intention to organize a writing retreat to follow the IAMSR conference (see the attached poster). I am wondering if anyone else is interested in self-organizing such a retreat? I believe we would have a very loose schedule - checking in with each other in the morning, at mid day and in the evening to check progress and give feedback (the design is a work in progress at this point).

If you are interested - please take a moment to drop me a line at:  stacie.chappell@wne.edu

A few things I would be keen to know:

    1) would you like to schedule 2 or 3 days to write?

    2) do you have a project you are currently working on?

    3) do you have any experience in facilitating writing retreat?

I would love to join in too.   Look forward to being involved with others in the self-organizing of this writing retreat opportunity.

I could do 2 or 3 days.  Whatever is good for other interested folks will work for me too.

Yes – I am working on a writing project now.

I love the idea too and have found writing retreats to be quite valuable - but I also won't be at the IAMSR conference.  Would love to-but too many conferences to attend this year!

See you in August in Atlanta!

    Hi Stacie,

This is a wonderful idea!  If the times and location can be worked out fairly soon, we should be able to add this to our conference website, which will allow people to consider extending their stay.

Our Fayetteville Public Library might be able to provide a meeting room.  This is one of the top community libraries in the country, they have a nice little coffee shop, and they are walking distance to the town square, which has lots of nice restaurants.
