    Invitation to join the next Humanistic Management 'Necessary Conversations' call, Friday, November 3, 12:00-1:00pm (EST) 
    Necessary Conversations Global Research Forum – Business for Good, or, The Journey from a Corporate to a Social Entrepreneur, with Patrick Struebi, Founder and CEO, Fairtrasa.
    The Humanistic Management Association invites interested scholars and practitioners to participate in the "Necessary Conversations" research forum. The forum focuses on ideas related to organizational practices that foster and promote human dignity and well-being in organizations and among societal stakeholders. The forum is facilitated every 1-2 months via global conference call around a topic of mutual interest.
    The next forum topic Business for Good, or, The Journey from a Corporate to a Social Entrepreneur will be on 
    FRIDAY, November 3, 12pm-1pm EST.  
    Patrick Struebi is the founder of Fairtrasa, a social enterprise with the mission of empowering marginalized small-scale urban farmers to lift themselves out of poverty. He developed a unique Three-Tier Farmer Development Model that links sustainable agriculture with community empowerment and access to international markets. Today, Fairtrasa is a vertically integrated group with 15 companies in 12 countries and one of the largest fair trade and organization fruit exporters from Latin America.
    For his work with Fairtrasa, Patrick has been selected an Ashoka Fellow, an Endeavor Entrepreneur, and a Yale World Fellow, and has been named "Social Entrepreneur of the Year" by the Schwab Foundation (2014), ABC* Foundation (2012), Univision (2012), and 
    Visionaris/UBS (2009). Patrick was selected by the World Economic Forum as a New Champion and he is a member of the Clinton Global Initiative. He is an Adjunct Professor and Gabelli Fellow at Fordham University and serves as Social-Entrepreneur-in-Residence at Yale University. Patrick writes a column at HuffPost and gives talks around the world on social entrepreneurship and related issues.
    Suggested preparation: Please consider your purpose and personal responsibility in life in view of the global challenges facing our world. Bring any reflections, key insights, highlights, useful literature, or questions to the call.

    Overall, our goal for the Necessary Conversations forum is to:
    • advance novel research questions and insights about the relationships between management, dignity, and human well-being;
    • encourage and inspire organizational leadership to generate dignity through their management processes and practices; and,
    • enliven teaching and learning initiatives in the classroom & inside organizations related to dignity and well-being.
