Call for 500 Word Abstracts: Improving Lives by Advancing the Study of Leader Self-Awareness

In preparation for the Academy of Management 2018 Annual Meeting and its theme of "Improving Lives", I would like to create a presenter symposium on the topic of leader self-awareness.

    see http://aom.org/annualmeeting/submission/guidelines/#symposiumguideline

The purpose of the symposium is to build on the existing field of research based on varying definitions and operationalizations of leader self-awareness, through presenting individual paper presentations of research in progress that intends to advance the field in some particular way, e.g., either adding domains of awareness or self, integrating prior conceptualizations, assessing validity and reliability of operationalizations and measurement instruments, testing the nomological network with prior measures, or estimating effects of leader self-awareness to improve lives. For this symposium, conceptual or empirical papers that link leader self-awareness to improving lives would be most appropriate.

Please submit your abstracts to me (twernsing@faculty.ie.edu) by December 3, 2017. Our timeline is:

    ·       December 3, 2017: Abstracts due (500 words).
    ·       December 6, 2017: Abstracts selected and notification completed.
    ·       December 16, 2017: Draft of presenter proposal due (up to 5 pages text and 2 pages of appendices).
    ·       December 20, 2017: Feedback for each presenter symposium proposal provided.
    ·       December 30, 2017: Final draft submitted for each presenter proposal to organizer.
    ·       January 2, 2018: Organizer submits presenter symposium proposal to AOM.

    best, Tara

    Tara,

I am very interested. Count me in as one who will be submitting a proposal. Let me know if there's anything different that you need from current request.
