    Dear MSR colleagues,

    Greetings from not-so-sunny Southern California!

I would like to share with you some information about a project I have been working on in the past months, which brought me many pleasant surprises so far: The Routledge Companion to Management and Workplace Spirituality.

This Companion aims to provide an overview of the Management subject area with a specific emphasis on Workplace Spirituality and the aspects that matter in establishing and maintaining a spiritual workplace.

I started this project for Routledge, because I felt that there was something missing in their portfolio of companions, which are the equivalents to handbooks, yet in a smaller size.

As the editor of this work, I first contemplated on the sections in which I could divide this massive work, and came to the following five parts:

    1. Managing Spirituality from a Personal Stance
    2. Spirituality, Religion, and Culture
    3. Conscious Foundations of Spirituality
    4. Leadership and Spirituality
    5. Treading a Spiritual Path toward Stakeholders

Since launching this project in August last year, I have been truly humbled by the interest that exists in MSR. I am so happy to share with you, that authors from practically all continents of the globe feel attracted and touched by the application of Management, Spirituality and Religion in the workplace. Participants to this project live and work in, among other places, New Zealand, Nigeria, Malaysia, The Netherlands, India, Canada, Israel, Germany, South Africa, the UK, Turkey, and of course, many of the United States! It has been especially pleasing to find that authors from multiple religions felt compelled to participate and contribute their insights to one of the five sections.

While having reached the target number of submissions for this work, I would still like to extend an invitation to those of you who have any enlightening ideas that they would like to share with the reading audience of this collective project. The only caveat in place here is that the first draft has to be submitted by the end of May 2018.

Please let me know if you are interested, and would like to learn more?

I am also open to suggestions on how to further improve this work, or any future MSR related project that I might be undertaking in collaboration with kindred MSR spirits.

Thank you in advance for responding.

    Dr. Marques,
I was very excited to read your email about The Routledge Companion to Management and Workplace Spirituality.  I am currently a PhD student (ABD) working on my dissertation, which is addressing the dearth of quantitative research pertaining to (a) the roles, duties, and responsibilities of workplace chaplains and (b) their correlation to employee job satisfaction.  Although I am not at a place where I am ready to submit any papers to your project, I am quite interested in its development.  I also hope to remain on your mailing list in order to be able to contribute toward any of your future projects.

    Sincerely,

    Charlie Williams
