Over the course of this special weekend, Roshi Joan and Buddhist scholar Dr. John Dunne will lead participants through an exploration of Buddhist visions of leadership drawing on classical and contemporary Buddhist writings, including the writings of Nāgārjuna, the legacy of King Ashoka, and perspectives from socially engaged Buddhism. We will take a deep plunge into ways that key Buddhist perspectives and practices around the core themes of wisdom and compassion can give us insight into pressing contemporary questions, such as environmental responsibility, social change, and ways to nurture communities of care.
