Subhash Kak is Regents Professor in the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Oklahoma State University in Stillwater.
Subhash's current research is on a theory that reality has an optimal dimensionality of e, that is about 2.718, which provides insights into problems of cosmology and an explanation for scale-invariance and fractal behavior in nature. Since nature is optimal, e-dimensionality should also be true for biological systems which would explain why the number of codons of the genetic code that map to amino acids is non-uniformly distributed. He recently published impossibility theorems on machine consciousness in the Journal of AI and Consciousness. Subhash is the author of 30 books including “The Nature of Physical Reality,” “The Architecture of Knowledge,” and “Mind and Self.”
Chris Laszlo is Professor, Department of Organizational Behavior, Weatherhead School of Management and is a past chair of this MSR division.
As one of the originators of the concept of sustainable value, Chris Laszlo, PhD, reframes sustainability as a business opportunity, turning environmental and social risks into drivers of innovation, greater employee engagement, and a new, inimitable source of competitive advantage. Laszlo is the author of six books, including Quantum Leadership: New Consciousness in Business (2019), Flourishing Enterprise: The New Spirit of Business (2014), Embedded Sustainability: The Next Big Competitive Advantage (2011), and Sustainable Value: How the World's Leading Companies are Doing Well by Doing Good (2008), all from Stanford University Press. His book Flourishing Enterprise was chosen as one of the top sustainability books by Sustainable Brands. In 2012 he was selected by his peers to be a “Top 100 Thought Leaders in Trustworthy Business Behavior” by Trust Across America™.
