Our October 10, 2023 Flamekeepers Big Question Webinar will focus on how to mainstream MSR (Management, Spirituality, and Religion) into management research journals, management education, and management practices. Each Flamekeeper will share personal stories and/or suggested strategies related to the topic, followed by an interactive breakout session where attendees will brainstorm strategies for mainstreaming MSR. Each group will have at least one Flamekeeper assigned to facilitate and guide the discussion. The session will culminate in a general group discussion where attendees can ask questions and make statements.
This session will be led by Jerry Biberman, one of the founders of MSR, and the first chair of the interest group, and will be recorded.
Jerry Biberman Bio:
Dr. Jerry Biberman is Professor Emeritus of Management at the University of Scranton,
a Jesuit University in Scranton, PA. He obtained his BA and MA in Psychology and PhD in Organizational Psychology and Group Processes degrees all from Temple University. Jerry has co-edited several books and has published many articles in the areas of work and spirituality and on organizational behavior teaching. Jerry served as founding co-editor of the Journal of Management, Spirituality and Religion, and was a founder and first chair of the Management, Spirituality and Religion interest group of the Academy of Management.
The Purpose of the Flamekeepers Committee:
The purpose of the Flamekeepers Committee is to recognize and honor long-time members of the MSR Special Interest Group who have made significant contributions to the science and practice of management, spirituality and religion, and to the leadership of MSR. The Flamekeepers Committee also provides opportunities for deep relational connection among the MSR elders, in support of the founding vision of MSR.
The MSR Flamekeepers Committee invites you to join the founders and early leaders of MSR for the next "MSR Big Questions Webinar" with Dr. Jerry Biberman. The goal of this webinar series is not to provide definitive answers to the Big Questions but to provoke new ideas for MSR research, teaching, and practice.
