    Does anyone know what hotel is the MSR hotel in Copenhagen?

    On the Housing site it looks like only one AOM hotel is available: AC Bella Sky Copenhagen. Is that really true? If so, how close is it to the MSR location? Perhaps I'd be better off doing airbnb. I can't walk far.

    Good morning, Judi and MSR Group:

    I'm not seeing any DIG-dedicated hotel listing < yet >. Perhaps query the AOM HQ on this? We've lived here in Frederiksberg/Copenhagen quite a while. That means we have little or no hotel or Air B&B knowledge, but I do know travel times, which Judi was writing about:

    - As you'll see, AOM is claiming that the conference is going to be under one roof at the Bella Center. I've never been to this conference site myself, since until this year we've had to get on a jet to go to AOM across the Pond. But, it'll at least simplify things if they can pull this off. 

    - Given the prior, you should keep in mind that unless you are staying at a Bella Center hotel site, there's going to be a 20 min Metro from AOM downtown hotels to conference site at Bella Center. Those hotels you can see clustered around downtown Copenhagen you can see on the map around Nyhavn/Kongens Nytorv require getting to Metro, and the ride is 15-20 min. You have to have a ticket bought BEFORE you get on the train or you'll get a 750dkk transit fine. You cannot buy a Metro ticket on the train, unless you think of a 750 dkk fine as a nice ticket price (104 USD). 

    - If you wish to also visit Tivoli and think to stay at a hotel near there, add another 10 min to get to Bella Center, pretty much. It may look closer to Bella Center on a map, but public transport is pretty much into-out from city center. 

    I cannot speak to driving yourself about here in Copenhagen and honestly wouldn't even think to rent a car and drive just to get around this city. We have never owned a car and get around by bike and public transit. Only very rarely use a taxi, don't know much about them, either. We live out west of city center a ways, so our travel time is going to be > 35 min. And we'll be jealous of those who can sneak away for a Bella Center nearby hotel room break. ;-)

    Hi all,

     

    This year the system is different – activities will not be in hotels, so there are no 'Divisions' designated' hotels.

    There is one hotel near the convention center, but I understand it is fully booked – and anyway, much better to be in the city center. Many hotels are available there, some are with good deals via AOM, others can be booked directly. The Metro is apparently very good, each two minutes or so, and the convention center is merely 10 minutes ride from the city center.
